If you love to write about film and currently live in Australia, you can apply for the Melbourne International Film Festival’s Critics Campus program.
You need to have been writing about film for no more than two years and be available in Melbourne between 2 and 9 August 2015.
If you want to apply, you’ll need to provide a one-page resume covering relevant studies and/or professional experience. You will also need to provide a list of published writing and criticism with links in your application where relevant.
A 500-word review of a film currently in theatrical release, a 200-word review of a film of your choice and an 800-word (or fewer) feature piece, interview or essay that you feel best demonstrates your capabilities should also be included.
University essays can be submitted, but it is not encouraged.
Those who wish to create content that includes audio and video are encouraged to apply as well and should submit 5 to 10 minutes of a piece if they wish to work within those mediums.
Applications for the program close 5 pm on Friday 12 June 2015. Successful candidates will be notified by Friday 3 July 2015.
