The Shepparton News is a regional daily newspaper that is a part of the McPherson Media Group, one of the largest independent family-owned media groups in Australia. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated cadet journalist to join our team.
The successful candidate will be expected to write clear, concise and interesting news stories and features for the Shepparton News and associated publications. Breaking news stories online and producing video content will also be required as will the use of social media. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound computer skills, an ability to build networks quickly and the confidence to develop their own stories.
A strong work ethic, excellent organisational and time management skills, well-developed research and writing skills, together with the ability to deliver high quality work under deadline pressure are also a must.
A valid driver’s licence and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and public holidays are essential.
