The position, based in Newcastle, NSW, is an exciting opportunity to join Fairfax Media.
The successful applicant will need to be a strong all-rounder. Writing duties are likely to include everything from local community news and entertainment to real estate, sport, and advertising features.
The successful applicant will have completed the Higher School Certificate or an appropriate journalism degree, and will undertake a cadetship of one to three years’ duration.
Cadetship training will be offered in reporting, photography, shorthand, sub-editing, layout and website maintenance.
