The Benalla Ensign is a regional weekly newspaper that is a part of the McPherson Media Group, one of the largest independent family-owned media groups in Australia. The organisation currently has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated cadet journalist to join the team.
The successful candidate will be expected to write clear, concise and interesting news stories, sports reports and features for the Benalla Ensign. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to build networks quickly and the confidence to develop their own stories.
A valid driver’s licence and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and public holidays are essential. An interest in and passion for sports reporting and experience in photography would also be a distinct advantage.
