Coming soon to a lecture theatre near you

Waleed Aly, Erin Cassar, and Michael Gawenda are just three of the guest lecturers joining us at La Trobe in coming weeks. And you're all invited to hear them speak.

In the coming weeks, several of La Trobe’s Journalism, Media and Cinema Studies studies subjects will be welcoming a range of industry professionals to talk to students. And we’re keen to ensure that as many members of the La Trobe community (including upstart readers) can benefit from attending these lectures. So we’ve created a new events calendar feature that allows you to look up who’s we’re bringing to Bundoora. Even if you’re not enrolled in the class in question, please feel free to come along.

Today our guest roster includes The Age’s Andrew Stephens (Writing for Media), ABC broadcaster Phil Kafcaloudes  (Dilemmas in Journalism), and film blogger and reviewer Luke Buckmaster (Screen Criticism). On the same day hile ABC reporter Erin Cassar, Victorial Police media liaison officer Beck Angel (both La Trobe graduates) and producer/filmmaker Frank Bruzzese will take part in a special media careers lecture in the ELT at 1pm.

Also visiting Bundoora over the next couple of months will be film reviewer Jake Wilson, The Age’s Simon Mann and Karen Kissane, former Age editor Michael Gawenda, the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance’s Mike Dobbie, and writer/broadcaster/lecturer Waleed Aly. For details of all events, please have a look at the events calendar in the right hand column of the home page.
