Internship/Work Experience opportunity in Sydney

Whim is an online magazine and blog based in Sydney that focuses fashion and beauty content, as well as beautiful imagery and nostalgic photography. Whim is for the creative at heart who’ll thrive on daily inspiration in all of its forms.

With a steady following, the workload has become too much, and as such an extra pair of hands is needed!

The position is unpaid and much of the work can be done from home, however, it would be ideal for a student who is seeking to gain experience/an internship with an up-and-coming website and digital publication. You will be working closely with the editor and be responsible for contributing 2-3 short blog posts each week. We understand that an unpaid position should not be hard work – it should be all about having fun and doing something that you love (with friendly people)!

The ideal candidate:

  • Is a first or second year University student studying creative writing, journalism or media and communications.
  • Is very interested in topics such as fashion, art, beauty and photography
  • Is a lover of all things whimsical, creative and dreamy! It is also important that you familiarise yourself withWhim before applying for this position (especially the Whim ‘voice’ as well as the niche audience that we are targeted to)
  • At this stage we are particularly looking for someone who lives in Sydney (especially southern Sydney), and although this is not an absolute must, it would be a huge advantage. This is so we have the chance to catch up occasionally and discuss all things Whim-related. It also means that when Whim attends local events, you’ll be able to come along!

If you are interested send a cover letter and resume to whim.online@gmail.com. It would also be great if you could send an example of a blog post you feel would fit on the Whim site (Word document is fine), as well as any links to a blog/website/Tumblr etc if you have one.
