Journalism jobs for two upstart editors

Ben Waterworth and Natalie Savino from upstart's editorial team have both scored new positions in the media industry.

At the end of a three-year (sometimes four) slug at university, we all want to get a job in the media industry — preferably paid.  For two editors here at upstart Ben Waterworth and Natalie Savino – we can effectively say they’ve cut out the middle man, having both scored positions with professional publications.

Ben, who is upstart’s sports editor, has been offered a position as a weekly columnist for the website The Roar.  He will be writing opinion pieces on weekly issues surrounding the AFL.

Meanwhile Natalie, upstart’s deputy editor and travel writer, will commence work as a reporter with the newspaper The Whittlesea Review today.

Both will continue with their writing and editorial duties for upstart, and are aiming to complete their journalism degrees at La Trobe University.

We wish both Ben and Natalie the best of luck.
