Pro Bono Australia is currently looking for an experienced online journalist to be part of their growing news team in the Australian Not for Profit/Social sector.

The Monday to Friday Melbourne based position will cover the “Not for Sector” and the issues surrounding it. These include Social enterprise, Impact Investing, Philanthropy, Volunteering, Fundraising and Corporate Social Responsibility – all part of the “social economy”. They are looking for a journalist with three or more years experience who is a self-starter with knowledge of the online news arena and who is able to work autonomously.

An interest in the community and social sector, as well as business and corporate social responsibility, is an advantage. The job may contain some out-of-hours work and interstate travel covering conferences and other relevant events. The successful applicant will be able to work to tight deadlines in a small news team under a managing editor. Remuneration based on level of experience.

Pro Bono Australia delivers an independent ‘live’ online news service to an engaged national audience. They are the major News Service for the sector and are currently experiencing extraordinary growth. The office environment is described as an “open and inclusive”  with a small and dedicated administration, sales and marketing team under the guidance and leadership of founder Karen Mahlab.
