Radio 3AW/MAGIC 1278 in Melbourne is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic police reporter to join the team.
The position will be full-time and based in Docklands.
Working as a key member of the team, you’ll be responsible for covering breaking police and emergency stories. You will be expected to report live from the scene for both news and programs. A willingness to identify a potential story, and follow a lead through to its conclusion is an absolute must.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 4+ years journalism experience
- Experience covering police rounds and courts is highly desirable
- A strong presentation style
- Strong news judgement and investigative skills
- You will be a self-starter, willing to travel to jobs around Melbourne and Victoria
- While reading news bulletins is not a key component of the job, experience in this area is desirable
- Must have current Victorian drivers licence
