Shedding light on the REAL Melbourne

Season four of the series produced by La Trobe University's Media: Screen + Sound students premieres on Channel 31 tonight.

Looking at the theme of ‘diversity and adversity’, the 6 episode television series of REAL focuses on exploring a range of diverse topics ranging from recreation, natural disasters, phobias, hair, prosthetics, and community versus corporation.

With the help of La Trobe University representatives, the series looks to explore these topics creatively and credibly. Interviews with the university’s experts assist in informing the public on matters relating to these themes, diving beyond the surface in order to educate the public on matters that remain prominent in society and in the media.

REAL is a student produced ‘serious entertainment’ series that not only showcases work from 3rd year La Trobe University Media: Screen + Sound production students but also one that promotes the diversity and research excellence within La Trobe’s academic cohort.
