A full-time newsroom position has become available.

The Warracknabeal Herald are looking for a motivated, organised and professional recent graduate or someone with relevant journalism experience to fill a full-time newsroom position. The small but busy news group cover community news across the Wimmera in north-west Victoria, publishing one – two newspapers a week.

Some journalism training and digital photography skills will be an advantage but they are able to provide training for the right candidate.

In the position you will be expected to do the following:

  • Identify and publish newsworthy stories in the community including court, crime and council
  • Digital photography
  • Sports reporting
  • Publishing online and to social media
  • Feature writing
  • Advertorial writing
  • Building and liaising with the community.

The successful candidate must also have the right to work in Australia, a current driver’s licence and independent transport.
