Why Not? is a new online space for young Australians to speak up, resist stereotypes and learn.
Created by the YMCA, Why Not? showcases a collection of stories and ideas that are uncensored and un-institutionalised.
According to the YMCA, only 20 percent of Australians aged 18-24 feel able to speak up within their community about important issues.
Why Not? aims to increase this percentage by publishing the stories of young people.
They are seeking original pieces of work by Australians aged 18-30 that tell a story about what it’s like to be a young Australian today.
Written work of less than one thousand words is preferred, but videos, comics and other types of media will also be accepted.
The YMCA will pay up to five young people for their work each month, for $50 each.
