Winter internships at Yopinion

Yopinion is currently accepting applications for an unpaid winter internship program for young people.

Yopinion is run by a group of second-year university students in Sydney who are ‘passionate about politics, social issues and arguing.’ The group says it created the website in response to a realisation that there are few places in the mainstream media for young people to air their thoughts and opinions.

Applications are invited from young people in year ten through to university students who are interested in the media, journalism and/or political activism.

The internship involves four days per week for either one or two weeks during July working on ‘The Binge Project’ at the Yopinion headquarters in Darlinghurst. ‘The Binge Project’ is a video and online content project that focuses on issues related to young people and bingeing – such as eating, exercise, Facebook, alcohol and study.

Interns will research and write about current affairs, produce video and written content, and get hands-on experience filming and editing.

Publicising of content via traditional media and social media will also be involved, with Yopinion active on Facebook and Twitter.
