Qantas has announced more flights will be added to the Bendigo to Sydney route as of 24 May.
The service will increase to two flights a day return service with flights leaving Bendigo at 6.30am and midday on Monday to Saturday and 9.15am and midday on Sunday. The arrival flights will land at Bendigo Airport at 11.40am and 8.20pm every day, except for Saturday which will be at 11.40am and 5.15pm.
Along with additional flights, Qantas has also introduced ticket flexibility to accommodate passengers throughout the rapidly changing COVID-19 restrictions across Australia. This policy allows travellers to book eligible Qantas flights with the option to change the travel date as often as needed.
The Bendigo to Sydney route was already operating at a pre-COVID-19 schedule prior to the announcement. Mayor Cr Jennifer Alden said these additional flights show the service has been “well utilised”.
“It’s great to see people’s confidence returning. The additional flights will give travellers more flights to choose from, making the service more convenient for residents, businesses and visitors,” Mayor Alden said.
Qantas initially launched the Bendigo to Sydney route in March 2019 with flights operating six days a week. But the service was suspended a year later due to the lockdown and was relaunched on 7 December 2020 after New South Wales opened its border to Victoria.
