Eurovision is set to kick-off this week with the contest being held in Basel, Switzerland. Contestants from 37 countries will attend the biggest music contest across the globe.
The event will go as planned: May 13 the first semi-final, May 15 the second semi-final and the final on May 17.
This year Australia’s representative is 29 year-old Marty Zambotto, also known as Go-Jo and he will be performing his newest song ‘Milkshake Man’.
Zambotto is from rural Western Australia and currently living in Sydney. He has amassed a following of over 1.4 million followers across all of his social media platforms. He has toured across Europe, Asia and the US and has become the ninth most streamed Australian artist in the world.
Zambotto says he is honoured to partake in the competition.
“It’s an absolute dream come true to represent such a beautiful and diverse nation and I’ve never been more excited to share my art and vision,” he said to Eurovision.
Australia has been broadcasting the event since 1983 on SBS but only officially joined Eurovision in 2015, marking this year as the 10th year anniversary.
