Iran has denied that US President Donald Trump has negotiated with them.
This comes after Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday about productive conversations with Iran that could end up in a “complete and total resolution” of the war.
Iran’s Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has denied these claims via X.
“No negotiations have been held with the US, and fakenews is used to manipulate the financial and oil markets and escape the quagmire in which the US and Israel are trapped,” he said on X.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei has confirmed they received some communication from the US.
“Over the past few days, messages were received through some friendly countries indicating a US request for negotiations aimed at ending the war,” he said.
Trump also said that the US would be postponing strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure due to the negotiations.
