Matilda striker Sam Kerr is set to leave Chelsea at the end of the current Women’s Super League (WSL) season.
Kerr has made 157 appearances and scored 115 goals for Chelsea, sitting only one goal behind Fran Kirby on the clubs all-time goal scorer list.
She released a statement confirming her departure after six and a half years with the Blues.
“When I reflect on my Chelsea career, I just feel happy,” Kerr said.
“Happy that it happened, and I feel so grateful to have played for this club for six years and won as many trophies as we could.”
She has achieved plenty of team success with Chelsea, winning five WSL titles, three FA Cups and three League Cups.
In 2023, she was the runner up of the Ballon d’Or before a torn ACL hampered the next 20 months of her career. She later returned to score her 100th Chelsea goal, cementing her spot as a Chelsea great.
Her last game with the club will be against Manchester United in the WSL at 10:00pm Saturday night AEST.
