A 29-year-old truck driver has been shot and hospitalised in a suspected gangland shooting in Sydney’s west overnight.
The driver was travelling along Donald Street in Yennora when a vehicle stopped in front of the truck. Police were told a man then exited the vehicle and allegedly fired “several shots” at the truck and left the scene.
Paramedics treated the truck driver for gunshot wounds on his wrist and abdomen and took him to hospital in a stable condition.
Following the shooting, emergency services were also called for two vehicles which were alight, one on Dixmude Street in South Granville, and another on Boundary Road in Chester Hill.
It is now being investigated whether the shooting and fires are connected.
