Australian breaks record for most chicken wings eaten

James Webb was in disbelief after his performance.

Australian competitive eater James Webb has broken the world record for the most chicken wings consumed in 12 minutes.

Webb took out the US Chicken Wing Eating Championship after consuming 276 wings in just 12 minutes.

The Australian’s feat was made even more impressive after lining up against eating competition powerhouse Joey Chestnut and two-time reigning champion Miki Sudo.

Webb said he was in disbelief after his record-breaking performance.

“If you told me this yesterday, I would have laughed in your face. I’m so shocked right now,” he said.

Chestnut, who is the number one competitive eater in the world, was full of praise for Webb after the competition.

“This was only my second time eating against James Webb, and the guy is good. He surprised me; I didn’t know how fast he was,” he said.

Webb averaged one wing every 2.6 seconds.
