Authorities in Nevada are investigating a death at the site of the Burning Man festival where thousands of attendees remain stranded.
This comes after a massive storm hit the normally arid land, forcing thousands of Burning Man festival-goers to seek shelter, conserve food and water and to stay warm as more wet weather is forecasted.
The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said it’s investigating a death which occurred during this rain event.
Authorities have not publicly named the person or provided details on the circumstances of the death, but have notified the family as investigations are underway.
Further rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds are projected in the forecast, as attendees of the festival are being asked not to leave due to the wet and muddy conditions.
Festival organisers say their main focus now is safety and getting people out.
