Gawenda, Wilson at La Trobe today

One of them used to edit The Age; the other works there now as a film reviewer. And if that doesn't sound like too much of a coincidence, well get this: both Michael Gawenda and Jake Wilson will be visiting La Trobe tomorrow.

Here at La Trobe, we’re very pleased to welcome former editor of The Age, Michael Gawenda, and current Age journalist Jake Wilson to Bundoora today. Michael, who now heads the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Advanced Jorunalism, will be in conversation with Lawrie Zion in the Dilemmas in Journalism class at 4 pm in the Economics Lecture Theatre, where they’ll discuss conflicts of interest in  journalism. Full details here.

This morning, Jake Wilson, a former La Trobe Cinema Studies student, will talk about how he morphed into a film reviewer at The Age in Monday’s Screen Criticism class at HUED 101 at 11AM. Full details here.
