Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel acted alone in the attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field in a press conference overnight.
This comes after President Donald Trump criticised the attack, claiming he knew nothing about it.
Israeli officials initially disputed this, stating that Trump had been informed prior to the attack taking place.
Speaking at the oval office, Trump said that he has asked Netanyahu to refrain any further attacks on energy infrastructure that could escalate the war.
Netanyahu said that he was respecting these wishes.
“President Trump asked us to hold off on future attacks, and we’re holding out,” he said.
Netanyahu also denied claims that Israel dragged the US into this war.
“Does anyone really think that someone can tell President Trump what to do? Come on,” he said.
According to Netanyahu, Israel and the United States are winning the war against Iran, as US-Israeli air attacks continue to destroy Iran’s missile and drone arsenal.
“What we’re destroying now are the factories that produce the components to make these missiles and to make the nuclear weapons that they’re trying to produce,” he said.
