Nikki Haley drops out of Republican presidential campaign

The former South Carolina governor conceded the Republican 2024 nomination to Donald Trump

Republican candidate Nikki Hayley has suspended her campaign for president paving the way for a potential rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in the upcoming November election.

Hayley was the last remaining challenger against Trump for the Republican party nomination.

Trump is now likely to be the party’s presidential candidate in the upcoming United States general election where Americans will again choose between Trump or Biden.

Hayley said she was grateful for the support she and her campaign had received.

“I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard. I have done that,” she said.

Hayley made history by being the first female candidate to win a Republican primary, winning the districts of Columbia and Vermont.

“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him,” she said.
