Australian Associated Press (AAP) is advertising for applicants to its cadet program, based in Sydney.
Cadets will be trained to write with speed and accuracy, receive training in court reportage, legal issues and filing technologies, and there will be a focus on multimedia. Practical work, lectures and field trips will also be components.
AAP says it’s looking for candidates with ‘a keen interest in hard news, from finance to politics, and lighter news too, such as entertainment and general human interest’.
The successful applicants will need to present a ‘good body of published work’, showing some involvement in breaking news.
To apply, send your cover letter and application to cadetapplications@aap.com.au
