The AFL Record is holding a short story competition. The aim of the competition is to promote short fiction about the AFL, and also to speculate about the game’s future.

Eligible stories must concentrate on the topic of ‘AFL 2022’, and must include a number of specific elements as outlined on the competition website.

Stories must be between 1000 and 2000 words in length, and be previously unpublished.

The competition winner will have their story published in the AFL Grand Final Record and will also win two return air tickets to Los Angeles.

The competition closes on 7 August 2011.
