Editorial cadetship with Fairfax newspaper

The Port Stephens Examiner in Newcastle is seeking to recruit a cadet journalist.

The successful applicant will have higher school qualification or have completed an appropriate journalism degree course.

The cadetship program will run from to one to three years.

During the cadetship, training will be offered in reporting, news writing, feature writing, online writing and shorthand.

It is expected that upon the completion of a cadetship, a full-time position with the Examiner will be offered.

Applicants must submit a resume, any portfolios of published work and a 500-word autobiographical piece.

Interested applicants are invited to apply online.

Applicants close on Friday, November 25.
