What’s the role of opinion and analysis in the media today? And who’s good at it and why?

These are just a couple of the questions that will be fielded by Jonathan Green this afternoon when he joins La Trobe’s final-year class, Advanced Journalism Practice, as guest lecturer.

Jonathan is the founding editor of the ABC’s opinion and analysis site The Drum, and in a career spanning 30 years has also worked as a columnist, senior writer and senior editor at The Age, and been editor of The Sunday Age and Crikey.

Earlier this year Jonathan was made an honorary associate of the School of Communications, Arts and Critical Enquiry at La Trobe University (which is the home of the Journalism program).

The lecture will be held at 1 o’clock this afternoon in room 302 of the Social Sciences building. All students welcome.
