Kyrgios pulls out of US Open

The Australian has now missed all four grand slams this year.

Nick Kyrgios has pulled out of the US Open, making it the fourth grand slam tournament he will miss this year.

No official reason has been given as to why the 28-year-old withdrew from the tournament.

Kyrgios informed the United States Tennis Association of his decision to pull out.

Kyrgios is currently 92nd on the official ATP rankings and is set to fall further due to the lack of matches he has played in this year.

He has played in just one match this year which he lost in Stuttgart, Germany in June.

He missed the Australian Open due to a knee injury in January and missed Wimbledon with a wrist injury in June.

It concludes a disappointing season for Kyrgios who came off a career-best year in 2022, making deep runs in Wimbledon and the US Open, as well as an Australian Open doubles tournament win with Thanasi Kokkinakis.
