Michael Gawenda lecture: The journalist as betrayer

Do interview subjects feel betrayed by reporters? Michael Gawenda lectures on the effects of public scrutiny at the Wheeler Centre.

Michael Gawenda, former editor-in-chief at The Age, and Walkley award winning journalist will be delivering a lecture at the Wheeler Centre, Melbourne on Thursday 1 March.

Gawenda will be speaking on the relationship between reporters and their interview subjects: do they feel betrayed?

He recently compiled a report looking at this issue in the aftermath of the Black Saturday bushfires, as the inaugural director of the Centre for Advanced Journalism, at the University of Melbourne.

This is a free event, held at the Wheeler Centre, 176 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
