National Young Writers Festival

Looking for career inspiration? The National Young Writers Festival is on again.

The National Young Writers Festival will be held in Newcastle from September 29 to October 3.

NYWF brings together budding and established writers for five days of conversation, exhibition and frivolity.

Catering for university students on a budget, NYWF is free.

Journalism will be an important feature of the festival and includes the following two exciting events:

What Every Young Journo Should Know, a Saturday workshop run by The Courier Mail’s Alison Sandy to talk you through Freedom of Information: what it is, how to use it and why it can be an amazing source for journalists.

Student Media Covered: A Retrospective exhibition is on every day and looks at how young journalists around the country are using student media. Find ideas, inspiration and see what others have achieved.

There will also be practical information on getting published to fun times at The Spelling Bee or the Writer Wants a Wife events.

Festival information can be found here.
