Newspaper job for La Trobe graduate Ashley Fritsch

Congratulations to Bachelor of Journalism graduate Ashley Fritsch, who is the latest member La Trobe's class of 2009 to score a newspaper job.

At upstart, we’re always keen to hear what happens next to our journalism graduates. So it’s great to be able to share the news that La Trobe 2009 Bachelor of Journalism graduate Ashley Fritsch has landed a job as a third-year cadet at the  Donald Buloke Times in her home town of Donald, in the north west of Victoria.

The paper is published bi-weekly and services several country towns in the Buloke Shire.  In her role Ashley is gaining experience in all aspects of the newspaper business, including writing and researching news and feature stories, proof reading and editing, photography, and layout and design. Ashley was appointed to the job after completing a six-week paid cadetship (funded through a Regional Development Victoria scheme) with the Donald Buloke Times during semester break last year.
