This just in from former La Trobe student Josh Berriman, who now works at Melbourne’s Northern Football League:

Are you looking to get into the exciting world of sports journalism? Do you fancy yourself as the next Mike Sheehan or Caroline Wilson? If so, then Melbourne’s Northern Football League wants to hear from you.

The NFL are currently seeking media volunteers to help out with providing content for the NFL website and weekly NFL Record during the 2010 season. We are looking for football and netball match reporters to join our team for the upcoming seasons.

The NFL media team consists of many volunteers who participate each week in providing the league with extensive media coverage.

The opportunity is there for those looking to forge a career in sports media, or who simply have a love of local footy and netball, and want to experience having their work published for a wide variety of readers.

If you are interested in being part of the NFL media team in 2010, please contact Northern Football League Media Manager, Josh Berriman, on Further details can be found here.

The Northern Football League chairman Ron Bongetti will be one of the speakers at a panel sesion about community media at the Sport Journalism Symposium which is to be held at La Trobe University on April 8.
