Student journalism award

Had any good stories run lately? The Melbourne Press Club is calling for submissions for its Siemens Award for Student Journalism. First prize includes $2,000 cash, and entries close on 9 October.

The Melbourne Press Club is calling for entries for for the Siemens Award for Student Journalism 2009. The criteria include the stipulation that the work entered must have been first published or broadcast in Victoria in a recognised publication, during the period from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009, and you must have been be enrolled as a student at the time of the publication.

The winner will receive $2000 cash plus two free tickets to the Melbourne Press Club 2009 Quill Awards for Excellence, to be held during March next year. The Melbourne Press Club  has also agreed to organise one week’s work experience for the winner at a major Melbourne media organisation.
