Sub-editor training course in Sydney

The Walkley Foundation is running a two-day training course for those wanting to learn about sub-editing and digital formatting.

Are you interested in learning the fundamentals of sub-editing and digital formatting?

The Walkley Foundation, in conjunction with the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, is offering a two-day training course to help up and coming journalism and media students hone their skills.

Run over two consecutive Saturdays, on November 12 and 19, the course will cover the basics of InDesign, grammar and punctuation, accuracy, the responsibilities of a sub-editor as well as the ins and outs of dealing with writers and designers.

They will be run by two publishing professionals, Kerrie Lee and Kim Jacobs

Kerrie has more than 40 years’ experience as an editor and sub-editor. She has run subbing courses for the Media Alliance and the Sydney Community College, ACP Magazines, ACP Custom Media, Pacific Magazines and the Federal Publishing Company

Kim has more than 15 years’ experience in publishing and has been using InDesign since its inception in the local industry.
