The world after 9/11: reflections on the 10th anniversary

It's been 10 years since the September 11 terror attacks in the United States. Robert Manne's Ideas and Society Program examines how the attacks have changed us.

La Trobe University’s Professor Robert Manne’s Ideas and Society Program will host a discussion today which looks at how the world has changed in the 10 years since the September 11, 2001 terror attacks in the United States.

Held in the John Scott Meeting House at La Trobe University’s Bundoora Campus the event will feature speakers from La Trobe’s International Relations Department and Australian National University’s Strategic and Defence Studies Centre.

Speakers will include Professor of Strategic Studies Hugh White and Politics Professor Robert Manne and the event will be chaired by Professor Dennis Altman, Director of the Institute for Human Security.

Running since 2009 Professor Robert Manne’s Ideas and Society program aims to bring students, staff and the general public together to better understand important issues of public debate.

This free event runs from 12:30-2pm and will be broadcast live.
