Catherine Deveny to guest lecture at La Trobe today

Melbourne-based comedian, actor and writer Catherine Deveny will be speaking to first-year journalism students this afternoon.

Catherine Deveny is a comedy writer, comedian, author, social commentator and broadcaster well known for her work as columnist with The Age newspaper and as an ABC regular.

Today she will be speaking to La Trobe University students enrolled in the subject The Interview, where students will be asking her profile-style questions.

A graduate of La Trobe, Deveny’s television work includes Network Seven’s Tonight Live with Steve Vizard, Full Frontal, ABC TV’s Good News Week, BackBerner and Q and A, Network 10’s Rove Live, The Wedge and skitHOUSE and The 7pm Project and Channel 31. She performs regularly on radio and television and is a popular fill-in broadcaster on 774 ABC Melbourne.

She recently starred in the second SBS series of Go Back To Where You Came From.

The lecture will take place on 3 this afternoon in the HUED Lecture Theatre.
