Entries open for student journalism award

Are you currently studying journalism or media? Do you want to liaise with the industry’s finest? Then enter the Media Super Student Award for excellence in student journalism.

The Walkley Foundation is once again offering the Media Super Student Award ­– an honour for excellence in student journalism ­– this year.

Entries are open to Australian tertiary students who have not previously worked full-time in the industry, in the categories of print, online, radio, and television. Submissions can include journalism that has been produced for assessment or has been published, and the piece must have been created between 4 May, 2010 and 29 April, 2011.

Three finalists and a winner will be chosen by a panel of judges, and the finalists will be contacted in late May. The winner will be announced at the Walkley Young Australian Journalist of the Year Awards 2011, to be held on 22 June in Sydney.

The 2011 winner will also be invited to the 56th Walkley Awards for excellence in journalism.

Entries are now open until COB Friday, 29 April 2011.
