Greensborough Hockey Club seeks journalism student

The club is on the lookout for a third year student to write their weekly update report for publication in print and online.

Greensborough Hockey Club is looking for a third year student to write weekly State league one men’s and women’s match reports during the winter sports season.

The articles would be submitted to Diamond Valley Leader for publication and would be used on the club’s website. The article would need to be sent to the Diamond Valley Leader sports editor by Monday morning every week.

This is a very good opportunity for those interested in sports journalism to gain some practical experience in the field and help develop a portfolio.

The applicant will have a decent knowledge of the game of hockey. All work will be weekend-based with a Monday morning deadline.

All work is done on a voluntary basis.

The applicant will be required to attend home games (at Plenty Park, Plenty) but will be able to conduct phone interviews for away games. Work does not begin until the winter sports season which commences after Easter.

For more information contact Greensborough Hockey Club communications man Tim Doutre at timdoutre@gmail.com.
