2013 Emerging Writers’ Festival

If you’re an undergraduate at an Australian university short $4000, the Emerging Writers' Festival is a great opportunity to be creative, get published and earn some cash.

Presented in conjunction with Monash University, the Emerging Writers’ Festival requires students to submit a piece of creative writing between 1500-3000 words. It is a chance to gain experience and recognition in the literature community, with the winning student receiving a paid publication opportunity in The Emerging Writer, tickets to the 2013 Emerging Writers’ Festival and $4000 in cash.

The judging panel includes Author of Burial Rights, Hannah Kent, Dr Melinda Harvey of Monash University and Julia Carlomagno from Scribe Publishing.

All forms of creative writing will be accepted, including short stories, non-fiction narrative and narrative verse however chapters from longer pieces of work are excluded.

Entries are currently being taken, and will close on the 15th April 2013 at midnight. A shortlist of the top literary pieces will be released on May 10th.
