In this lecture – ‘Reading Australian Media’ – Jason will consider patterns of ownership in Australian media; what effect, if any, these have on the coverage of politics; and what students should be looking for in the national debate in the lead-up to the 2013 federal election.

Crikey has become a landmark publication in the Australian media landscape in recent years. The news and commentary sent to Crikey subscribers, and posted on Crikey.com.au, presents a unique perspective on politics, business and the media and is read by some of the nation’s most influential decision makers.

His guest lecture will take place at 4pm on Monday afternoon, in the HUED lecture theatre.
