Ahead of the inaugural Melbourne Web Series Festival on 20 July, we’re profiling all 30 series that made the Official Selection list. Next up is Aunty Donna’s Rumpus Room, directed and edited by Tom Armstrong and Max Miller.
Simply put, Aunty Donna’s Rumpus Room is about “four goofballs goofing off and being downright gooses. It follows the lives of each goofball as they struggle to decide whether to goof off or act like a goose.”
The quirky Australian series was inspired by the creators personal goofball antics of friends and relatives. It is pretty clear that the cast and creators of Aunty Donna’s Rumpus room faithfully abide by the rules of goofing off.
The series is pure comedy, relying on all things theatrical, vulgar, hilarious.
What inspired your series?
Probably just the daily goofball antics of friends and relatives and family friends too, so if the show is too goofy for you, blame them.
Why should people watch your series?
Cause it’s just good natured, goofball fun for people who can be a bit of a goose themselves.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome in production?
Just how downright goofy everyone could be on and off screen.
How do you reach your audience?
Social Media.
